5th Annual Baltimore County Community Outreach Forum

The Baltimore County Coalition of the MLMP will be hosting its 5^th Annual Community Outreach Forum on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 10a to 1p at Park School of Baltimore. The in-person, free, public program will include a film screening and discussion as well as community education opportunities.

The highlight of the program will be a screening of the documentary, Eroding History. The film “tells the story of two Black communities on Deal Island, on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, that are finding themselves at the intersection of sea level rise, historic racism, and the disappearance of Black communities. It is a climate justice story, made by two Black filmmakers and a Jewish grandchild of refugees.”

We will be joined by the filmmakers for a post-screening talkback. Guests include:

• Andre Chung, Director, is a five time Pulitzer Prize finalist for his photography
• Sean Yoes, Co-Producer, is a longtime writer for the Baltimore Afro American newspaper and radio host at WEAA-FM (Morgan State University)
• Rona Kobell, Producer and co-founder of the Environmental Justice Journalism Initiative

The film screening will be followed by community conversation and additional programming.

The January 13th Community Forum is free and open to the public but attendees are urged to register here. Please join us at Park School, 2425 Old Court Road, Baltimore for this popular and provocative annual event. Coffee, tea, juice and light faire will be provided.
